| FEATS
PER MINUTE: |
“ I like
the approach to this
mix. In the age of Serato, Ableton, and
Cdj's DJ Para brings
it back to the old
school creating
a hip hop mix using
only turntables an 8
track and stacks and
stacks of wax. Along
with sometime partner
DJ Baila from the Saxton
Collection, "Feats
per minute" is
the ultimate hip hop
mix coming straight
outta Swindon.
Opening
with a intro of deft
scratches and a couple
of beat juggles the
beats switch up through
a few choice premo beats
before Para and Baila
drop a series of deeply
dug spoken word samples
and accapella's and
Rza-esque atmospherics. Littered
with tightly woven blends
(several layers deep!)scattershot
scratches and machismo
Dj Shouts you'll be
neck snapping away before
another classic beat
or sample catches your
ear again.
The
much loved DJ Yoda makes
an appearance half way
through the album with
3 minutes of madness
before the tempo ups
a notch with some deep
funk cuts for the latter
half of the lp. Feats
per Minute is a well
thought out and very
hard labored mix....there
cant be a single minute
that a record is left
untouched"

| FEATS
PER MINUTE: |
“ The uk
hip hop guru DJ Para
has been responsible
for a slew of high calibre
mixtapes , battle weapons
and artist albums over
the years.For this latest
cut & paste selection
he teams up with Baila
and capitalizes on their
much talked about 'Saxton
Collection' set.
Stitching together
beats and bobs from
a multitude of stone
cold classics,funk and
new-school indie hip
hop. The pair weave a
head nodding tapestry
that will prove irresistible
to anyone with a pulse
, a pair of feet and
a ear for a good groove.DJ
Yoda even pops in to
drop his own mini session
halfway through, and
there's even a wibblesome
remix at the end of
a tune called 'Stumpy
goes to bognor'.
What more could a listener
want!

"
Para and Baila Keeps up
the ridiculously high
quality of their funky
cut and paste style of
their earlier mixes. Incorporating
a ton of well placed breaks
and samples. Ive got to
be carefull in bigging
it up too hard as I feature
exclusively on one of
the tracks.
Suffice to say ..Cop It.

With some assistance from
DJ Yoda this talented
turntable twosome cut
there way through classics
from Krs-One to Whodini,
adding a few unexpected
twists to the proceeedingd
plus some heavy breaks
and a huge dose of gleefully
reckless creativity".

| ALL
THE PIECES FIT : |
| "
Paras move into his own
production is coming on
strong with this personal
project of beats and cuts.
A great example of how
things have moved on into
2006, with collaborations
and live band artists
adding there own touches,
it certainly has everything
you need for a all round
CD project that covers
many areas and many styles.

| RETURN
OF THE BOMB DJ 5.5 : |
"
Originally a bay area
hip hop magazine Bomb
Hip Hop have since gone
on to create a groundbreaking
record label that focuses
on the four elements.
They became the first
label to release an LP
entirely dedicated to
the DJ as an artist with
return of the bomb DJ
vol 1. Since then they
have continued with this
series which brings us
to the latest release
Return of the DJ vol 5.5.
Feat. many talented DJs
worldwide of course the
track Creative Control
from DJ Para (Cutz) and
Relent (Beats) - a fine
collaboration as seen
in previous project -
Relentless Paranoia. "

| FABRIC
OF REALITY : |
"
The latest album to be
added to the ever growing
list of production, this
time finding itself back
to the collaboration many
were anticipating from
the last Para/Relent encounter
with the Project. Things
have moved onward and
upward with the crisper
fatter production from
Relent - Fat beats and
well sourced samples /
spoken phrases. A perfect
combination layered with
the ever nimble fingered
techniques of Para - this
project hits all the right
buttons. Featuring a mix
of vocals, lyrics, feature
tracks from related producers
creating a strong collective
feel to the project, and
works perfectly. "

| FELT
TIP : |
"
Yet another installment
from DJ para,this time
combining his own production
together with the usual
high standard of cut and
paste mix techniques.
This Project introduces
the Kicks and snares a
classic boom bap style
mix series in which we
hope to hear more from
in future projects. With
DJ Alone also adding his
own production it makes
for a solid head nodding,
neck snapping composition.

| RELENTLESS
PARANOIA : |
"
Captures everything that
is in essence the humorous
yet mysterious world of
Relent. Intertwined with
DJ Paras pin sharp finger
work and sample selection,
this collaboration is
a perfect example of the
traditional cut and paste
ethic. Creating a seamless
integration of sound and
movement, heavy stuff.

 |
| A
FORM OF AWARENESS : |
"
A form of awareness is
an awesome extravaganza
during which Para tests
the limits of his turntables
as musical instruments
in order to deliver supremely
entertaining music. This
is a Hip Hop mix tape,
not a rap compilation.

| SLO-MO
- THE GREAT DIVIDE : |
"
Following the success
of their debut A Life
Of Its Own. Slo-mo return
with a 2nd installment.
Continuing with their
own brand of dark melodic
grooves of producer Brett
Mckee, vocals of Caitlin
Bowles and the additional
finger work of DJ Para.

| SLO-MO
- A LIFE OF ITS OWN : |
"
Slo-Mo consist of three
members, they are : DJ
Para / Caitlin Bowles
(Sepiatone/No More Horses)
and Brett Mckee (Producer/Sepiatone).
This project was a slight
break from what Para is
usually involved with.
This collaboration was
formed after Brett Mckee
had already embarked on
a personal project. Through
Caitlin Bowles Para was
asked to add scratches
to some tracks, while
Caitlin supplied vocals.
This then turned into
what is now known as Slo-Mo.
